Highway no. 12 (Phitsanulok – Lom Sak) is called the “Waterfall Road”. On the way to Lom Sak District at KM. 44-45 is Gaeng Song Waterfall with its source being the Khek River receding making it into a stream resembling a big picturesque waterfall. During the rainy season the water would be murky but in winter and summer the water would recede and become clear and good for leisure trips.
The Gaeng Song Waterfall is a touristic spot in the Thung Salaeng Luang National Park. It is situated in Gaeng Song Sub-district, Wang Thong District, Phitsanulok Province and is not far from the city with a short car ride. You will enjoy the atmosphere of the charming scenery and houses on the banks of the Gaeng Song Waterfall. There is a hanging bridge for observing the Khek River and leads to the village on the opposite bank where restaurants and coffee shops service tourists as well as boating services (available only during August to October) which is exciting and fun. Many tourists dream of boating down the Khek River once in their lives. During the Songkran festival tourists would wade in the water to ease the heat.
