It is 4 kms. away from the Phu Hin Rong Kla National Park Office and is a dense jungle with big trees. In the past it was used for training and education of the Communist Doctrine with Civilians, Quartermaster, Military, Communications, Medical, Living Quarters and a small printing press, althogether 31 buildings spread out in this dense jungle. Apart from this, in the middle of the school there is one tractor parked. It belonged to the Pikanet Construction Company which the insurgents hijacked during the construction of the Nakhon Thai-Darn Sai highway. It is a relic of the violence that once was in this area.
Within the Phu Hin Rong Kla National Park there are 2 interesting aspects; Historical and Natural
Historical Aspect: This was the site where the Communist Insurgents used as accommodation and for activities. All these sites are currently being taken care of and maintained by the National Park i.e. The Political and Military School, Watermill, State Authority Office and Flag-Pole Cliff.
Natural Aspect: Most sites are spread out around the national park i.e. Lan Hin Poom, Lan Hin Taek, Man Daeng Waterfall, Rom Klao-Paradorn Waterfall, Huay Kamin Noi Waterfall, Sai Fon Waterfall, Phu Paeng Ma Hill, Phu Rong Kla Hill and Phu Lom Lo Hill.
Phu Hin Rong Kla has a cold temperature the whole year round especially in the winter. Some years the temperature can be down to 0-2 degrees Celsius and covered with fog and mist all over. It is therefore, one of the important tourist sites of Phitsanulok Province which nature lovers have on their bucket list.
